Free burgers, upcoming events, and Good Samaritan needed!

Here are a couple of things that need the attention of our membership:

Free burgers! After our fabulous Annual Picnic in July, there was lots of food left over. We’ve got an unopened box of burger patties, still frozen, that need to be donated somewhere. If you have any suggestions, or a use for them, please contact Gerry Mooney at gerry@mooneyart.com or call at 914-357-0310.

EVENTS:
RSU Big Tent Day – A semester-launching, event on the RSU campus on Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 9:30 tho 2:00 We’ll be registering voters, handing out candidate literature, greeting new students and providing info on the Rogers County Democrats. It would be great to have a couple of volunteers! The table will be staffed by Gerry Mooney (gerry@mooneyart.com) and George Schaefer (gschaef791@yahoo.com) but of course, the more the merrier, especially in this newly-charged up election season.

WOMEN’S EXPO – A Day-long event at Claremore Community Center on Saturday, Aug. 24 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 on the theme, “Voices of Women: Speaking out for What’s Right.” Contact Cindy Stevens at cindymstevens@gmail.com , Phone: 620-218-0768.

Rogers County Fair – Sept. 12 -15 at the Claremore Expo. We will need some serious volunteer help to step up for this great event. It involves setting up on Sept. 11, staffing our booth to hand out literature, register voters and get the word out about the Rogers County Dems. Once again, we think this charged up election season will see more than the usual activity for the Democrats. Contact Gerry Mooney, email address above!

GOOD SAMARITAN NEEDED!
WE’ve been contacted by Jon Tipps, a resident at Copp’s Residential Care in Justice. Jon is a committed Democrat. He suffers from schizo-affective disorder, is on disability, and doesn’t drive. Jon is motivated to help out the Democrats however he can and would like to attend the monthly meetings. If you can help Jon out, drop him an email at jon_tipps@yahoo.com
