Inola Smelter Update

The moratorium the Inola Town Trustees granted expires at the end of September. This moratorium was presumably granted to allow them time to look into the potential impacts of the smelter. It's been two months and we have not heard a peep from them about any actions they have undertaken to study and understand the potential impacts of the smelter.

According to Samson Tamijani 2 News' recent news report, OPA is planning a groundbreaking ceremony in October.

At the August 31 meeting, Trustee Redden complained that we are raising our concerns at meetings and on Facebook, but have failed to email him.
It is time for us to email the trustees!

Request that at the next meeting they provide an update on what actions they have undertaken to understand the impacts of the smelter on our community (And, no, getting information from the smelter or Tulsa Port Authority doesn't count)

Please email the trustees individually. They will not respond to a group email to all trustees due to concerns about violating the Open Meetings Act.
